THE TRIPEPTIDE
PalmitoylTripeptide-1
A cosmetic peptide selected for skin conditioning and smoother-looking skin. One of the three named peptides in Burleigh Bronze.
For a buyer interested in body care as much as a luminous finish, Burleigh Bronze earns our vote. Its three named cosmetic peptides sit alongside a generous supporting cast of hydrators, emollients and vitamin ingredients.
Melanoboost has the lower cost per 100 mL and more texture options. Burleigh Bronze’s appeal is the specific formula—not a claim that a higher price or a longer ingredient list proves better tanning results.

Checked 1 October 2026
Burleigh Bronze was listed as sold out at the linked stores when checked. Prices and availability can change. Per-100 mL prices = bottle price ÷ bottle volume × 100. Product sources below.
Burleigh Bronze is 95 cents less per bottle, but Melanoboost gives you 40 mL more. Normalised by volume, Burleigh costs $11.70 more per 100 mL. That is a premium to weigh against the ingredients you want in your body-care routine.
For a skincare-first shopper, we think the tanning pitch can be. A promise of a deeper tan with less sun is attention-grabbing. It is also a different reason to buy from wanting a considered moisturising body-care formula.
Melanoboost’s Sun & Science page describes its intended tanning mechanism and says its products are dermatologically tested. The page reviewed does not present a controlled comparison with Burleigh Bronze. Dermatological testing is not, by itself, proof of superior tanning performance.
Our preference is Burleigh’s ingredient combination. That is an editorial choice, not evidence that Melanoboost does not work—or that Burleigh will produce a faster tan. Melanoboost’s lotion also includes glycerin, jojoba, vitamin E and aloe, so it deserves credit for having a skincare side of its own.
THE GOLDY GLOW POINT OF VIEW
For us, the most persuasive upgrade is a formula we want to use as body care. That is where Burleigh Bronze makes its case.
03 / THE NEWCOMER WITH A SKINCARE BRIEF
Burleigh Bronze brings together three named peptides with familiar facial-skincare ingredients. It is this combination that makes it the standout in our edit.
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5.
Sodium hyaluronate, glycerin and panthenol feature in the supplied formula.
Squalane, jojoba and shea butter complete a body-care approach with substance.
Meet the standout ingredients behind Burleigh Bronze’s Amino-Complex. Three named cosmetic peptides sit alongside moisture-binding hydrators, silky emollients and vitamins—the combination at the heart of our skincare-first approach.
THE TRIPEPTIDE
A cosmetic peptide selected for skin conditioning and smoother-looking skin. One of the three named peptides in Burleigh Bronze.
THE COMPLEMENTARY PEPTIDE
A skin-conditioning peptide often paired with Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 in cosmetic skincare. Both appear in this formula.
THE THIRD PEPTIDE
Completes the peptide trio. Goldy Glow includes it within the formula’s hydration and skin-conditioning approach.
THE FORMULA DIFFERENCE
Burleigh Bronze lists all three peptides above. These exact names do not appear in the published ingredient lists reviewed for Melanoboost’s original Peptide Sun Tanning Oil or Peptide Sun Tanning Lotion.
HYDRATION
Listed as Sodium Hyaluronate. A moisture-binding ingredient that complements the formula’s nourishing oils.
SILKY SOFTNESS
A lightweight emollient that helps soften skin and contributes to a smooth, comfortable feel.
SKIN COMFORT
Also known as pro-vitamin B5. A moisturising ingredient included for soft, comfortable-feeling skin.
NOURISHING CARE
Jojoba seed oil and shea butter add emollient care to help soften and condition dry-feeling skin.
MOISTURE SUPPORT
A humectant in the supplied ingredient list, supporting the formula’s moisture-binding side.
VITAMIN INGREDIENTS
Listed as 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid and Tocopheryl Acetate—vitamin derivatives that round out the skincare formula.
Ingredient names are drawn from the supplier list provided by Goldy Glow and the linked product pages. Descriptions explain cosmetic roles; they do not establish clinically measured results for this finished product. Peptide concentrations were not supplied.
Melanoboost markets its range around peptide technology. Its original oil and lotion lists include arginine, histidine, lysine, phenylalanine and tryptophan, along with Dihydroxy Methylchromonyl Palmitate. These are different listed ingredients from Burleigh’s named cosmetic peptide trio.
That distinction helps explain our formula preference; it does not establish which product delivers better results. Concentrations and finished-product performance matter. Burleigh’s Acetyl Tyrosine is also separate from its three named peptides.
Our reason to choose Burleigh: the combination of cosmetic peptides, sodium hyaluronate, squalane and panthenol. An ingredient spotlight is a useful shopping guide, not a substitute for a controlled trial.
Launched in 2016, the Australian brand offers several formats. Our main price and ingredient comparison covers the original oil and the blue-bottle lotion.
YELLOW / THE ORIGINAL OIL
Melanoboost describes a lightweight, non-greasy feel. Its oil blend includes grapeseed and apricot kernel oils, with vitamin E.
$59.95 / 160 mL
A sheen-focused option for oil lovers.
BLUE / THE HYDRATING LOTION
The brand describes a milky texture, quick absorption and a dry-touch finish. It highlights its Duraquench IQ moisturising complex.
$59.95 / 160 mL
The closer texture alternative for lotion fans.
AQUA, CORAL & GREEN
Aqua is a spray. Coral Oil + Bronzing and green Lotion + Bronzing add sunless tanning actives; they serve a different purpose from a simple cosmetic sheen.
Choose the intended effect before choosing the bottle colour.
CUSTOMER NOTE / MELANOBOOST OIL
Verified reviewer Craig W. praised the oil’s scent in a five-star review dated 17 September 2026. This is one customer’s experience, not a comparison with Burleigh Bronze.
05 / SCENT, FINISH & THE DAILY RITUAL
Goldy Glow describes Burleigh Bronze’s scent as warm roasted coffee, with a silky, lightweight feel that absorbs quickly. It is an appealing body-care ritual even on days spent away from the beach.
Melanoboost’s oil and lotion both list fragrance. A specific fragrance profile was not confirmed in the product descriptions reviewed. Its oil is positioned for sheen; the lotion for a drier touch.
These are brand descriptions, not our hands-on findings. We would not call one less greasy without a wear comparison. Our preference rests on Burleigh’s formula and the experience the brand describes.
No. Burleigh Bronze and the Melanoboost oils, lotions and spray discussed here do not contain SPF. No tanning product makes deliberate UV tanning safe. Cancer Council recommends broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF50 or SPF50+, plus clothing, a hat, shade and sunglasses. Read the sun-protection guidance.
No such conclusion follows from an ingredient list. The three peptides highlighted here support Burleigh’s skincare positioning. Their presence does not establish faster tanning, reduced UV harm or superiority in a head-to-head test.
Do not confuse a luminous moisturised finish with a developing self-tan. Burleigh Bronze’s body-care role does not require deliberate sun exposure. Melanoboost’s + Bronzing variants specifically add sunless tanning actives.
Melanoboost wins on volume for the money. Burleigh Bronze is our pick if its particular combination of cosmetic peptides, hydrators and emollients is worth the higher cost per 100 mL to you.
Melanoboost offers more volume and a choice of textures. For our skincare-first shopping brief, Burleigh Bronze’s peptide trio and supporting ingredients make the newcomer the standout.
