THE TRIPEPTIDE
PalmitoylTripeptide-1
A cosmetic peptide selected for skin conditioning and smoother-looking skin. One of the three named peptides in Burleigh Bronze.
If you choose body care as thoughtfully as your facial skincare, Burleigh Bronze is the standout in this edit. Its appeal is a combination of cosmetic peptides, hydration ingredients and emollients—a compelling reason to make room for the newcomer.
Bali Body remains the lower-cost choice, with distinct scented oils and SPF options. If your priority is a sunscreen oil, its Watermelon SPF50 serves a different purpose: Burleigh Bronze has no SPF.

Price comparison checked 2 October 2026
Bali Body’s collection page displayed a 20% promotion when checked; its Watermelon SPF50 product page displayed $28.95. Offers may vary or end—confirm at checkout. For its 100 mL bottles, the offer price is also the offer price per 100 mL. Burleigh Bronze was listed as sold out on both linked stores. Sources 1–6.
At regular prices, Burleigh Bronze costs $20.22 more per 100 mL than Watermelon SPF50. The extra 20 mL in the bottle does not erase that premium. Its buying argument is the kind of body-care formula you want, rather than a cheaper cost per use.
REVIEW NOTE / VALUE
Madhatter liked the older Watermelon oil’s scent and bottle but questioned its value. An individual experience—not a verdict on the current SPF50 formula.
02 / THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
Burleigh Bronze’s published ingredient highlights name Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5. The Bali Body ingredient lists reviewed do not list these peptides.
This gives the newcomer a distinct formulation story. For someone already interested in peptide skincare, bringing that approach into body care is an appealing upgrade.

Sodium hyaluronate and panthenol complement the oil’s moisturising focus.
Squalane, jojoba and shea butter sit alongside vitamin C and vitamin E ingredients.

Meet the standout ingredients behind Burleigh Bronze’s Amino-Complex. Three named cosmetic peptides sit alongside moisture-binding hydrators, silky emollients and vitamins—the combination at the heart of our skincare-first approach.
THE TRIPEPTIDE
A cosmetic peptide selected for skin conditioning and smoother-looking skin. One of the three named peptides in Burleigh Bronze.
THE COMPLEMENTARY PEPTIDE
A skin-conditioning peptide often paired with Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 in cosmetic skincare. Both appear in this formula.
THE THIRD PEPTIDE
Completes the peptide trio. Goldy Glow includes it within the formula’s hydration and skin-conditioning approach.
THE FORMULA DIFFERENCE
Burleigh Bronze lists all three peptides above. None appears in the published ingredient lists reviewed for Bali Body Watermelon SPF50, Cacao SPF15 or Pineapple SPF15.
HYDRATION
Listed as Sodium Hyaluronate. A moisture-binding ingredient that complements the formula’s nourishing oils.
SILKY SOFTNESS
A lightweight emollient that helps soften skin and contributes to a smooth, comfortable feel.
SKIN COMFORT
Also known as pro-vitamin B5. A moisturising ingredient included for soft, comfortable-feeling skin.
NOURISHING CARE
Jojoba seed oil and shea butter add emollient care to help soften and condition dry-feeling skin.
MOISTURE SUPPORT
A humectant in the supplied ingredient list, supporting the formula’s moisture-binding side.
VITAMIN INGREDIENTS
Listed as 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid and Tocopheryl Acetate—vitamin derivatives that round out the skincare formula.
Ingredient names are drawn from the supplier list provided by Goldy Glow and the linked product pages. Descriptions explain cosmetic roles; they do not establish clinically measured results for this finished product. Peptide concentrations were not supplied.
Gold Coast Tanning’s listing also highlights Acetyl Tyrosine, an amino-acid derivative used in cosmetic tanning formulas. Its presence does not establish faster tanning. Likewise, cosmetic peptides are not proof that this finished product increases melanin or outperforms another oil in a tanning trial.
The supplier ingredient list provided by Goldy Glow also names glycerin, hydrolyzed rice protein and aloe extract. Acetyl Tyrosine is an amino-acid derivative, separate from the three named cosmetic peptides. Ingredient percentages and head-to-head finished-product testing were not supplied.
Our preference is editorial: a body-care purchase with a broader skincare brief is more interesting to us than choosing on scent and shine alone.
The three bottles pictured have different ingredients, scents and intended uses. Here is where each fits.
THE SUNSCREEN OIL
Grapeseed, coconut and sweet almond oils meet watermelon fruit extract, vitamin E and sunscreen filters. Bali Body describes a fast-drying finish and fresh watermelon fragrance.
The brand says this formula is not water resistant. Its current Australian page calls it Watermelon Sunscreen Oil; the supplied bottle image uses Tanning Oil wording.
THE BRONZED TINT
A grapeseed, coconut and olive oil base with cocoa oil, vitamin E and sunscreen filters. The brand describes chocolatey fragrance and an immediate bronzed tint.
Of these three Bali Body options, this is the one to examine if instant cosmetic tint is the feature you want. SPF15 is below Cancer Council’s recommended SPF50/50+.
THE TROPICAL SCENT
Grapeseed, coconut and sweet almond oils, pineapple fruit, glycerin, vitamin E and sunscreen filters create a fruit-led alternative.
The brand describes a sweet pineapple fragrance. It is marketed as a sun-tanning oil, not a developing self-tanner. As with Cacao, its SPF15 is not our recommended standalone sun-protection choice.
REVIEW NOTE / FRAGRANCE
Lauren praised the older Watermelon oil’s fragrance, hydration and glow. Scent clearly forms part of its appeal.
04 / THE EVERYDAY EXPERIENCE
Burleigh Bronze’s current fragrance description is warm roasted coffee, inspired by a Burleigh morning. It is a different mood from Bali Body’s fresh watermelon, sweet pineapple or chocolatey cacao.
Goldy Glow describes a light, quickly absorbing feel with a luminous finish. Bali Body also describes its oils as quick to absorb, so a hands-on comparison would be needed to call one less greasy.
Our choice comes down to the ritual: Burleigh Bronze makes sense as a daily body-care indulgence, including days spent away from the beach.
For the buyer who wants their body oil to feel like a considered skincare purchase, Burleigh Bronze is the newcomer we would put on the shortlist.
No. It is a cosmetic body oil and cannot replace sunscreen. For outdoor protection, Cancer Council recommends broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF50 or SPF50+, alongside clothing, a hat, shade and sunglasses.
The named cosmetic peptides alone do not establish that claim. Concentration, formulation and finished-product testing matter. This comparison favours Burleigh Bronze for its skincare positioning, not proven tanning acceleration.
Yes, its moisturising and cosmetic glow role does not require deliberate UV exposure. Do not confuse a luminous skin finish with a developing self-tan.
Bali Body has the lower price per 100 mL. Burleigh Bronze is our preference when a peptide-focused body-care formula is worth the higher spend to you. Neither an ingredient count nor a higher price proves better results for every person.
No product makes deliberate UV tanning safe. Hydration, peptides and antioxidants do not cancel UV damage. Sunscreen reduces exposure but does not justify spending longer in the sun.
